British battleships HMS Formidable and Implacable arrived at Corfu, Greece according to the Dutch newspaper Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 6 April 1908

An item dated Athens, Greece 5th reported the arrival of the British battleships HMS Formidable (1) and Implacable (2) at Corfu, Greece to welcome the German emperor Wilhelm.

Notes

1. Built under the 1897 Programme, laid down by Portsmouth Dockyard on 21 March 1898, launched on 17 November 1898, completed in September 1901, commissioned on 10 October 1901 and torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine SMS U-24 in the Channel on 1 January 1915. Part of Formidable-class preceded by Canopus-class succeeded by London-class.

2. Laid down by Devonport Dockyard on 13 July 1898, launched on 11 March 1899, completed in July 1901, commissione on 10 September 1901, , converted into a depot ship after March 1918, decommissioned in 1919, sold to be broken up on 8 November 1921, resold and towed to German to be broken up there in April 1922. Part of Formidable-class preceded by Canopus-class succeeded by London-class.
