Converted Type 1TL tanker. Part of Special 1TL Type also called Shimane-class preceded by Shinyo/Kawasaki-type oiler and succeeded by Special 2TL Type escort carrier. In fact consisted the conversion of a full-length flight deck, a single elevator and rerouting the boiler uptakes to the aft starboard. No island or catapults. Could carry 12 aircraft. Laid down by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Shipyard, Kobe, Japan on 8 June 1944, launched on 17 December 1944, commissioned on 28 February 1945 and sunk by British aircraft in the Shido Bay off Takamatsu, Kawasaki Prefecture, Japan on 24 July 1945.
