An item reported that the Vichy French light cruiser Emile Bertin intended to leave on 11 March Fort de France, Martinique towards Iles des Saintes, Guadeloupe and would returned on 18 March.(1)

Preceded by Jeanne d’Arc, succeeded by La Gallissonière-class, laid down by Chantiers de Penhoët, France on 18 August 1931, launched on 9 May 1933, commissioned on 28 January 1935, decommissioned in October 1951, gunnery training ship, stricken on 27 October 1959 and broken up in 1961.
