Japanese cargo ship Momokawa Maru 1939-1944

Similar Kikukawa Maru (1936), Kirikawa Maru (1937), Matukawa Maru/Matsukawa Maru (1938), Momokawa Maru (1939), Nippo Maru (1936), Toei Maru (1936) and Toho Maru (1937). Call sign JSTO. Laid down by Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Kobe, Japan on 13 December 1939, launched on 17 August 1939, completed on 31 March 1941, requisitioned by the army and became assigned Army No. 891 in End November 1941, returned to owners and requisitioned by the navy on 18 June 1943, sunk during an American aircraft at Truk on 17 February 1944 and stricken on 30 April 1944. Gross tonnage 3,829 tons and as dimensions 107.3 x 15.2 x 8.4 metres and a draught of 8’6” (light)-23” (loaded) feet. Steam turbine propulsion, horsepower 333 nhp, one screw, coal bunker capacity 1,000 tons and range 10,000 nautical miles/12 knots. and speed 12-14 (normal cruising)-16 (maximum) knots.
