Keels laid down of the Swedish ships of the line Gustaf den Store and Skandinavien according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 11 August 1825

Stockholm, 30 July, According to the newspaper Journal de Frankfurter were at Karlskrona the keels laid down of two new ships of the line namely the Gustaaf den Grooten (1) and the Scandinavier (2).

The Gustaf den Store laid down by Johan Aron af Borneman (Kihlgren) at the Karlskrona örlogsvarv (navy yard) dock no. 3 17 July 1825, launched 18 September 1832, hauled out 21 September, ordered to be rebuilt as screw steamship 31 January 1855, cancelled 15 January 1858, large repairs 1856-1860, deleted 8 September 1868 and broken up 1869-187. Displacement 90.562 Swedish cubic feet outside planking, 68-76 guns, 3-decker all 24 pdrs, dimensions 179’2” (waterline)-179’10 (between perpendiculars) x 47’11” x 22.
2. The Skandinavien, laid down by Johan Aron af Borneman (Kihlgren) at the Karlskrona örlogsvarv (navy yard) dock no. 2 17 July 1825, launched 8 November 1860 but never completed for sea, ordered to be rebuilt as screw steamship 31 January 1855, cancelled 22 July 1858, planned conversion into an armoured turret ship, deleted 27 July 1876 and broken up 1885. Displacement 90.562 Swedish cubic fleet outside planking, dimensions 175’2” (waterline)-170’10” (between perpendiculars) x 49’10 x 22’4”, 62-76 guns, 3-decker, all 30pdrs.
