Dutch whaler Catharina sold on Monday 17 October 1774 at Amsterdam, Netherlands

This fluytship was sold on Monday 17 October 1774 in the Nieuwezyds Heeren Logement at Amsterdam. Last commandeur was Hendrik Mom.(1) Newly fitted out in 1742. Dimensions in Amsterdam foot 111½ x 27’6’” x 12’6”, height verdeck 6½ and S 8’4”. Price ƒ 5,800. subcharge ƒ 600, Claas Mol for his master.

1. Van Sante mentioned a Hendrik Mom who sailed in 1774 for director Cornelis Abrahamsz de Veer of Amsterdam as a Greenland whaler with as results 6 whales, 215 (?) barrels of whale blubber and 175 quardelen train oil.
