Dutch whaler Pieter sold at Amsterdam on 13 November 1775

This fluytship was sold on Monday 13 November 1775 in the Nieuwezyds Heeren Logement at Amsterdam. Last commandeur was Daniel Claase Meyer.(1) Newly fitted out in 1740. In 1773 at Hamburg heavily repaired and in 1774 were bowsprit and rudder replaced. Dimensions in Amsterdam foot 112½ x 29’2”x 11’9”, height verdeck 6’6” and S. 10’1½”. Prize ƒ 4,200, subcharge ƒ 14.

1. Van Sante mentioned a Daniel Claasz Meyer commandeur on a Greenland whaler for director Pieter Hodgers of Amsterdam in 1775 with as results 2 whales, 110 barrels of whale blubber and 141 quardelen train oil.
