Italian submarine salvage vessel Titano 1913>-1945


Build at Ansaldo, Italy in 1913 with a displacement of 828 tons and armed with 1-3” gun. Her triple expansion engine and two Thorny croft boilers supplied 1,850 hp while driving 2 screws allowing a speed of 14 knots. Her coal bunker capacity was 160 tons. Details supplied by Jane’s Fighting Ships 1944/1945. Jane’s Fighting Ships 1919 rated her as a high sea tug, armed with 2-6pdr guns, 1,70 hp and a speed of 15 knots, 2 screws and 2 Gennardini boilers and a coal bunker capacity of 160 tons. Conway’s  All the world fighting ships 1906-1921 and 1922-1945 don’t not mention her.
