Japan approved the naval treaty between France, England and Italy according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland evening edition dated 11 March 1931

According to a tiding dated Tokyo 10 March approved the Japanese cabinet the naval agreement between England, France and Italy without demanding special conditions but sending a memorandum made by her navy staff dealing with some concerns. These concerns were mainly dealing with the building capacity for submarines allowed to France and that France was permitted to keep two old battleships in service. Further more was clearly expressed that the building by France and Italy of two large battleships was not allowed by the limits of the Naval Treaty of London so this treaty needed to be changed. The Japanese cabinet said that there was a possibility that would be discussed on the coming disarmament meeting.
