Mutiny on board of Italian warship Amalfi according to the Dutch newspaper Het Volk dated 1 March 1913



According to tiding dated Rome 28 February was from Tarente to the newspaper Corriere d’Italia telegraphed that troops on board of the there lying anchored warship Amalfi (1) mutinied. Sailors threw over board the compass, ammunition and the breeches of the guns. Strictly disciplinary measures were taken to punish the responsible men.

1. Probably the armoured cruiser Amalfi of the Pisa-class, laid down at the yard of Odero, Sestri Ponente on 24 July 1905, laid down on 5 May 1908, completed on 1 September 1909 and sunk while torpedoed by the German submarine U 26 on 7 July 1915.
