Arrival of Greenland whalers at Texel on 26 July according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 1 August 1758

Texel, 28 July. Arrival on 26 July of the Europa, commandeur Simon J. Walig, 5 whales, 120 quardelen; ‘t Bontepaard, Laurens J. Walig, 3 whales, 120 quardelen; Standvastige Eendracht, commandeur Jan Cornelisz Buys, 5 whales, 146 quardelen; Sara en Anna, commandeur Adriaan Jansen, 3 whales, 137 quardelen; Wel te Vrede, commandeur Cornelis de Leeuw, 1 whale, 45 quardelen; Kennemerland, commandeur Jacob Cornelisz Ruyg, 2 whales, 100 quardelen; Assurantie,commandeur Barend Zeeman, 2 whales, 70 quardelen; Vrouw Maria, commandeur Frerik Pietersz, 3 whales, 120 quardelen; Hoop op de Walvis-vangst, commandeur Cornelis Adriaan Out, 6 whales, 160 quardelen and the Catharina, commandeur Cornelis Adriaansz, 4 whales, 78 quardelen, all coming from Greenland. It was incorrectly thought that the latter commandeur was lost with his ship.
