Losses due to privateers of the Independents according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 7 July 1818

The Ceres underway from Rio Janeiro, Brazil towards Oporto, Portugal which arrived 26 April in the Bay of Bahia after being plundered by a privateer. The Bello Corunes underway from Tarragona, Spain towards Vera Cruz, Mexico captured by an Independent privateer. The Young Elisabeth master Tickles underway from Antwerp, Belgium towards Havana, Cuba plundered by an Independent privateer. The brig George underway from Havre de Grace towards Savannah, USA plundered by pirates. Madrid, 18 June. According to tidings from Lima was the merchant frigate Minerva of Cadiz, Spain captured by a pirate vessel with 30-40 pirates in the port of Arica.
