Mexico buying German tankers which seek refugee according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 21 September 1939

An item dated Mexico City 20 September reported that negotiations were going on to buy some German tankers and other vessels which seek refugee in Mexican waters. There were at least 7 German vessels including 2-10,000 tons tankers. The newspapers Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië evening edition dated 21 September and the Het Vaderland evening edition dated 20 September confirmed this item.
