Russian prisoners of war mutinied in Japan according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 20 November 1905

An item dated Singapore 20 November reported that according to tidings from Tokyo the Russian prisoners of war on board of the transports at Nagasaki mutinied.

The edition dated 21 November published an item dated Tokyo 19 November according to which 500 prisoners of war on board of the navy ships Wladimir and Woronesz in the arbour of Nagasaki destined towards Vladivostok seemed to mutiny. Hundred Japanese policemen were sent on board while the ships were guarded by torpedo boats.

The edition dated 22 November published an item dated Tokyo 21 November according to which the mutiny was ended. The Japanese police left the ships but torpedo boats still guarded the harbour. One transport with on board 1,200 men was departed.
