Turkish fleet underway to the Archipelago according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 19 June 1850

An item dated Trieste 11 June reported that the Turkish sultan left Constantinople on 2 June towards the Archipelago to start with Smyrna, Scio and Rhodos. The Turkish fleet commanded by the capudan pasha left the Dardanelles on 31 May towards the Archipelago. She consisted of 4 ships of the line, 2 frigates, 3 corvettes and 3 smaller vessels. The sultan was escort by a squadron of steamships.
