Esso allowed new building tankers and briging older tankers under Panamanian flag according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 6 February 1956

An item reported that the US government approved the request of the Esso Shipping Company of building two 35.500 tons tankers at American shipyards. Further more it was approved that five aged tankers were brought under Panama flag.
