Dutch frigate ship Jacob Roggeveen built at Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper De Avondbode dated Friday 7 February 1840

Immediately after the launching of the Ambarawa was the keel laid down of the Jacob Roggeveen for Trakranen&Comp. The newspaper Dagblad van ‘s-Gravenhage dated 13 November 1840 reported that two days earlier at the shipyard de Zwarte Raaf at the end of the Kleine Kattenburgerstraat the newly built frigate ship Jacob Roggeveen of circa 500 lasten was launched by shipbuilder J. Knol for Trakranen&Comp, captain H. Rolff and destined for the Dutch East Indies trade.
