Russian drilling platform Chazar built by Dutch shipyards according to the Dutch newspaper Geformeerd gezinsblad dated 25 August 1967

An item reported that three Russian tugs departed Schiedam while towing the drilling platform Chazar built by I.H.C. Holland (Gusto) and Wilton-Fijenoord. This first moveable drilling platform of the Soviet Union was to be towed in three parts via the Skagerrak towards Leningrad and from there Baku at the Caspian Sea. Another Dutch newspaper Het vrije volk dated the 26th reported that the middle pontoon with the drilling floor, the tower and the accommodations were built at Wilton Fijenoord, the two other pontoons with the legs by Gusto, Schiedam. She had already been temporarily assembled in the dock at Wilton to check everything. The dimensions were 50 x 45 x 7,25 metres. Dutch engineers would assist during the assembling at Baku.
