US Navy lacking sufficient number of auxiliary ships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1935 no. 7

An item referred to the magazine M.R. dated November 1935 which reported that admiral Standley (1) stated that the naval manoeuvres clearly showed the lacking of a sufficient number of auxiliary ships as fast tankers, mother ships for destroyers and submarines, transports, floating workshops, minesweepers and hospital ships. To solve this problem was an annual budget of 13.000.000 US dollars needed.
