Building of French minelayer Emile Bertin planned according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1932 no. 5

An item reported that the new French minelayer Emile Bertin (1) would be slightly larger as the Pluton. The latter was armed with 4-13.9cm guns and could carry with her 250 mines. The Emile Bertin was to have a displacement of 6.000 ton, a speed of 30 knots and armament of 3x3-15,2cm.

1. Her keel was laid down on 18 August 1931 at Chantiers de Penhoët, launched on 9 May 1933, commissioned on 28 January 1935, stricken on 27 October 1959 and finally broken up in 1961. A light cruiser designed for two purposes namely as a minelayer and as a destroyer flotilla leader.
