Commanding officers and cooks wanted for French-Batavian flotilla according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamsche courant dated 26 January 1804

An item dated Flushing the 16th reported that the Commissary of the Batavian Navy C. Speeleveld announced that all skilled masters, mates and boatswains of merchant ships and fishing vessels were be engaged for a monthly ƒ 48 to command the flat-bottomed vessels. Sailors skilled to serve as cooks on board of the transports coming from Texel were monthly paid ƒ 22,-exluded the usual premium and monthly payment.
