Blue Star Line wanted to order new reefers according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 11 May 1925

An item reported that British, German and Dutch shipyards wanted to obtain the order for building 8 reefers for the Blue Star Line with a value of 24 million Dutch guilders. The British shipyards tried everything although according to rumours their lowest tenders was still 240.000 Dutch guilders for each ship more as the opponents.
