Canadian government fleet not profitable in 1923 and 1924 according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 24 April 1925

An item reported that the Canadian government fleet of 57 cargo ships had resulted in a loss of 1.440.000 dollars over 1924 and in 1923 even a 433.000 dollars more. The main problem was lacking enough homeward bound cargoes resulting that these return voyages were not profitable.
