Augsburg, 22 July. From Trieste arrived tidings that a Turkish advice yacht
with messages for the captain pasha was sends from Constantinople but captured
by the Greeks. The messages were directly handed over to the Greek admiralty at
Hydra. According to the contents was the captain pasha ordered to return
immediately to Constantinople while handing over the command to the Captain
Bey. The latter was to depart without any delay to Patras to support the
seraskier Reschid pasha.
The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung published a news item dated Constantinople 25 June. According to this had the large frigate, which was, exploded off Cape d’Oro 600 men and 200 most European officers on board which were to command the defence works at Missolunghi.
