Russian naval establishment at the Newa twice stricken by a disaster in 1878 according to the Dutch newspaper Goessche Courant

According to the local Dutch newspaper Goessche Courant dated 20 July 1878 was the Russian naval establishment at the mouth of the Newa River within short time twice the scene of a disaster. First exploded a boiler causing the death of one stoker and few days was ere en large fire costs ƒ 1.000.000 Dutch guilders while destroying around 30 torpedo boats nearly completed and destined for the East Sea Fleet and 2 clippers on stocks for the Russian government.
