Trieste, 1 September. According to letters from Alexandria dated 23 September was the Captain pasha still in this harbour. The combined fleet was ready to depart, however the exact date was unknown. The Austrian flotilla was spread in the Archipelago as far as Rodi to escort Austrian merchant ships. The Austrian corvette Carolina arrived at Alexandria ordered to depart with a few days and to escort the merchant ships destined towards Smyrna and Constantinople.
