November. According to rumours met the Greek fleet of 55 ships and a large of
numbers and commanded by the admirals Miaulis, Sachturi and Canaris at a small
distance of Alexandria
the Egyptian-Turkish fleet. After a fiercely fight the latter lost some ships
by fire or capture while the remaining were scattered.
