The Dutch local newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 30 July 1893 reported that the navy of Siam consisted that year of 2 screw steam corvettes of 2.000 tons and 8 guns, 1 brig of 480 tons and 6 guns, 3 gunboats 2nc class with 17 guns, 4 gunboats 2nd class with 8 guns and 5 other steam vessels with 4 guns.
