Water tube boiler for Dutch tug Orion delivered in 1894 by the shipyard De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands

According to the order administration page 89 dated December 1894 delivered the shipyard Kon.Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands the water tube boiler no. 220 (type Bleckenden) 9’1½“x 4’5” and 200 lbs steam to the shipping company of Arie Smit at Slikkerveer to be placed in the tug Orion. The contracted price was ƒ 6,500 but the order proved to be a huge failure. The real costs were ƒ 7.930,00 (materials ƒ 4.713,45+labour ƒ 2.106,87+60% expenses ƒ 1.209,68) causing a loss of ƒ 14.30 for the shipyard. According to a further explanation were also around ƒ 4.000 spent for testing the boiler.
