British screw steam gun vessel HMS Mullet visited Wilelmstad, Curacao according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 21 November 1868

An item reported the departure from Willemstad, Curacao on Tuesday the17th of the British steam warship HMS Mullet commanded by Kelly towards Maracaibo, Venezuela.(1)

1, Of the Philomel-class, Her building at the shipyard of Charles Lungley, Rotherhithe was ordered on 14 June 1859, laid down on 29 June,launched on 3 February 1860, commissioned on 30 April 1862 and on 25 April 1872 sold at Hong Kong. Her engines were removed by her owner W. Walker&Co., London n and as the Formosa became she a sailing ship with a barque-rigging. In the 80’s was she bought by the government of Victoria, Australia to be used as a block ship. On 30 March 1885 captured the Russian empire Afghan territory at Pandjdeh nearly resulting in a war with the British Empire. The state Victoria, Australia fearing the outbreak wanted to blockade the south and west channels fearing. In 1890 converted into a magazine.
