American whaler Ocean off Tahiti, French Polynesia according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 2 December 1862

A letter written by captain Gifford on board of the ship Ocean of New Bedford, USA reported her being around Tahiti, French Polynesia on 23 August with a catch of 1.50 barrels of sperm oil.
