Bark Sverre nearly lost after capsizing near Tasmania according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 June 1902

An item dated London, England 3rd reported that the bark ship Sverre which arrived on 1 April at Sydney Australia coming from Algoa Bay, South Africa near Tasmania by a heavy storm was thrown on one side. Two days she kept that hazardous state harassed by heavy seas. Finally her crew succeeded in retaining a normal state with nine sails torn into pieces.
