Dutch steamships Achilles and Deucalion released by Turkish authorities according to the Dutch newspaper De Tribune dated 24 April 1917

An item reported that the Turkish authorities released the Dutch steamships Achilles [of 1906] and Deucalion [of 1914]which were lying in captivity at Smyrna since October when Turkey choose the side of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Their crews who lived at shore for six months returned to their ships.(1)

1, Both ships were property of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot-Maatschappij and were lost in the Second World War.
