Stranded steamship Bencorlic at Whitby, England lost according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 June 1902

An item dated Whitby, England 2nd reported that effort to embark the stranded steamship Bencorlic failed due to the high sea which also pushed the ship further on the shore. She was probably filled with water and since her crew abandoner her had nobody been on board. In advertisements was asked for tenders to salvage ship cargo via the principle no cure no pay. Her cargo was to be thrown overboard.
