An item reported that on last Friday the British submarine chaser K 41 arrived at Nieuwediep, Netherlands escorted by a Dutch naval vessel. The K 41 participated in the battle off the Dutch island Ameland. There were six submarine chasers attacked by aircraft causing the loss of 3 boats and another 3 stranded on the Dutch coast. Two of these boats were still lying at Texel and were on the 19th to be brought also towards Den Helder. A Dutch reporter visited the boat and described her as very fast (4-45 miles), a length of just 10 metres and a crew numbering 3 men. With depth charges it was the intention to force a submarine to come to the surface and then to destroy her with the two machineguns on board and hand grenades.
