Dutch 6th charter Argo 1789-1796

Of the admiralty Amsterdam, built according establishment 36 guns dated 30 September 1782, launched at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 28 January 1790, captured by British on North Sea 12 May 1796, dimensions 140 x 37½ x 15½, height between decks 5'8", captured by British on North Sea on 12 May 1796, in British service as Phoenix, dimensions (Amsterdam foot) 139 8/11 x 37½-37 8/11 x 15½-15 8/11, height between decks 5'8", an armament of 36-40 guns (26-12pd guns, 6-6pd guns, 4-18pd carronades), a crew numbering 230 men and a 704 tons British builders measurement. Lying at Den Helder, Netherlands on the moment of the decision dated 27 February 1795 by which the admiralties were closed entried. Aegidius van Braam on 20 december 1792 appointed as commanding officer, departed to North Sea and waters of Zealand, still in charge in 1795.
