Spanish privateer Chebeck captured British privateer Maria according to the Dutch newspaper Haagsche courant dated 3 June 1801

An item dated Malaga, Spain 22nd April reported the arrival on the 17th of the Spanish privateer of San Francisco de Paulo Chebeck armed with 4-8pd captain Peterz Beniderme with the by her captured British privateer polcacre Marie armed with 12-8/6pd guns. On board of the British privateer were the captain and 16 sailors wounded, on board of the Chebeck just four lightly.
