Russian steam dredger Port Arthur 12 launched at Slikkerveer, Netherlands according to the Dutch magazine De ingenieur dated 22 September 1900

An item reported the launching at the shipyard of the firm A.F. Smulders at Slikkerveer, Netherlands on 15 September of the hull of the first of four steam dredgers built for account of the Russian department of navy to be used in the port of Port Arthur. The Port Arthur 12 had as dimensions 160 (deck) x 22 x 15 (hold) feet with a Siemens Martin-steel built hull. The 350 ihp compound steam engine was built in the plant of Smulders at Utrecht. Netherlands. The two boilers with a total heating surface of 160 square metres were built in the plant of Smulders at Luik, Belgium. For the electrical lightning was a directly working steam dynamo placed enough for 2 of arc lamps with a brightness of 1.000 candles and further more light bulbs with a brightness 0f 6 candles.
