An item dated Venice 18th July reported that that the Venetian navy was strengthened with as result that Russia now longer was a threat for the Venetian merchant shipping in the Levant. The Venetian government stricken the galleys and the sailors were transferred to the fleet and the galley slaves to the chebecqs.
