Italian firm Ansaldo building small submarine chasers for the Italian navy according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1915-1916 no. 6

An item referred to the newspaper New York Herald reporting that the Italian firm Ansaldo delivered several submarine chasers to the Italian navy. Dimensions 15,25 x 2,67 metres and a displacement of 6 tons. Two screws each driven by a 8-cylinder Sterling 1.200-1.300 rpm engine allowing a maximum speed of 30 miles. The armament consisted of a light quick firing gun. The same firm was also building some similar boats of 9 tons displacement.
