Portuguese destroyer Tejo 1904-1927

Laid down as a torpedo gunboat at the Naval Arsenal, Lisbon, Portugal in 1901, launched on 27 October 1901, completed in 1904, tested until 1906, decided afterwards to convert her into a full-fledged destroyer which was executed in 1915-1917, in 1906 and broken up in >1927-1929<. With a displacement 0f 522 tons and as dimensions 70 x 6,96 x 2,51 metres or 230 x 22.8 x 8.3 feet. Total horsepower with vertical triple expansion machinery and 4 boilers of 7.000 hp and a speed of 25 knots. Her crew numbered 85 men. Her armament consisted original of 1-10cm/3.9”gun, 1-6.5cm/2.6” gun, 2x1-47,4 mm/0.16” guns and 2x1-35,6cm  torpedo tubes, in 1917 was the 6,5cm gun replaced by 1-7,6cm/3.0“ gun. Coal bunker capacity 155 ton. During the conversion into a destroyer were two of the four funnels removed.
