The 2.900 ton flotilla leader Leningrad seemed to achieve a maximum speed of more as 36 knots during her trials. Except for her sister ship Minsk were 6 more ships of this type being built. The Italian shipyard Odero was building 2-3.300 ton cruiser with a speed of 42 knots and an armament of 6-12,5cn guns and 1-5.000 ton cruiser.
