Dutch protected corvette Hr. Ms. Sumatra visited Port Said, Egypt Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 25 October 1891


An item reported that the Dutch protected corvette Hr. Ms. Sumatra (1) captain P.G. Bruch (2) in the forenoon of the 22nd arrived at Port Said, Egypt with the intention to continue the voyage in the afternoon. Everything was well on board.

1. Laid down at the Koninklijke Fabriek van Stoom- en andere Werktuigen, Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1888, launched on 26 April 1890 and sold to be broken up in 1907.
2. Pieter Gijsbert Bruch (Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 27 August 1842-Amsterdam, Netherlands 15 April 1893), ended his career in the rank of captain.
