Dutch shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands manufactured steam steering gears for the Dutch monitors Zr. Ms. Haai and Luipaard in 1879

In the order administration dated 9 April 1879 was the order for account of the Dutch Department of navy described as the delivery of two steam steering gears for the Dutch monitors Zr. Ms. Haai (1) and Luipaard (2) for the contracted price of ƒ 19.050,00.

Building costs totally ƒ 15.085, 98 (two devices ƒ 8.057,88, labour ƒ 3.090,45m expenses labour ƒ 1.537,32 a 65% ƒ 999,26, costs for trimming ƒ 2.355,44, travel costs ƒ 582,95) resulting in a profit of ƒ 3.964,02.

2. Ram monitor 2nd class, laid down by the Nederlandse Stoomboot Maaatschappij, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1875, launched on 14 September 1876 and sold to be broken up in 1907
