An item reported that the Dutch rams Zr. Ms. Stier (1) and Guinea (2) lying at Willemsoord, Netherlands and the monitors Zr. Ms. Adder (3) , Tijger (4) and Heiligerlee (5) the first lying at Amsterdam, Netherlands and the other two at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands were to be commissioned on 16th May 1876 with as commanding officers respectively the captain lieutenants A. Rietveld, E.F. Hanel Von Cronenthall and the lieutenants 1st class F. Luteyn, J.M.L.A.P. Werix and jhr. J.A. Roëll.

1. Laid down at Laird, Birkenhead, England on 7 June 1867, launched on 9 April 1868, trial on 18 August 1868, modernized in 1882, laid up in 1908, became a floating magazine in 1915 and sunk during tests when struck by bombs thrown by aircraft in 1925.
2. Ex-Matador. Laid down at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1867, launched on 5 May 1870, trial off Texel on 16 October 1873, commissioned on 16 May 1875, stricken in 1894 and sold to be broken up on in 1897.
3. Laid down at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 31 December 1870, launched on 28 September 1871, trial on the IJ, Netherlands on 24 October 1973, commissioned on 16 June 1875and sunk with all men on board on Wednesday 5 July 1882 off Scheveningen, Netherlands. Ram monitor 2nd class.
4. Laid down at Napier, Glasgow, Scotland in 1867, launched in 1868, trial on 2 July 1868, decommissioned on 10 December 1895 and sold to be broken up in 1896.
5. Laid down at Laird Brothers, Birkenhead, England on 3 June 1867, launched on 7 January 1868, commissioned on 26 May 1868, decommissioned on 6 January 1909 and sold to be broken up at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1910.
