France naval and war budgets for 1935 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1935 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine M.R. dated September 1935 reporting that the French 1935 budgets for war and navy formed with 16.956.600.000 francs 35,4% of the total budget meaning 406 francs for each inhabitant. The navy budget was 2.902.900.000 francs or 17,1% of the total defensive budget. For the naval air force was 190 million francs available. The naval personnel strength was 67.147 men or 4.808 sea and air force officers, 625 officers of administration and health, priests and teachers, 59.140 petty officers and sailors, 2.674 marines, coast artillery and so on. In stead of 18 months was each men now to serve 24 months.
