Siam wanted to built naval training ships by Japanese shipyards according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1935 no. 6

An item referred to the Jap. Chr. dated 1 August 1935 reporting that the chief of the naval staff of Siam with some of his naval officers visited Japan to negotiate with shipyards over building 2 training ships. The intention was also to visit Manchuria. The edition dated the 29th confirmed the visits to Japan and Manchuria.
