Pacific Mail steamship Cuba in problems according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated Monday 10 September 1923

An item dated San Francisco, USA 8th reported that according to a received wireless telegram the steamship Cuba of the Pacific Mail was in problems south of San Pedro. The American destroyer USS Reno (1)was cruising off San Miguel searching for survivors.

1. The DD3-3 of the Clemson-class, laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Union Iron Works, San Francisco, USA on 4 July 1918, launched on 22 January 1919, commissioned on 23 July 1920 and sold to be broken up in 1931.
