The planned French battleships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 9


An item reported that the new to be built French battleships Tourville, Duquesne, Lyon and Lille would have a displacement of 29.500 tons and as dimensions 190 x 29 metres and a speed of 23 miles. The armament was to consist of 4x4-34 cm/13.38” guns amidships and 28-14cm/5.5” guns and with maximum 35cm/13.8 thick armour. The new watertight partitioning was with success tested at Lorient, France.(1)

1. The never realized Lyon-class. The armament was to consist of 4x4-34cm. Cal 45 Modèle 1912 guns, 24x1-13,8cm/5,4” guns, anti aircraft guns with a calibre of 4cm/1.6’ or 4,7cm/1.9” and 6 submerged torpedo tubes.
