Brazilian destroyer Alagaoas launched at Glasgow, Scotland according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1909-1910 no. 7

An item reported the launching at Glasgow, Scotland by Yarrow&Co. on 30 July of the Alagoas (1) in presence of admiral Maurity (2), the seventh destroyer built for Brazil. Maurity commanded on 19 February 1868 the monitor Alagoas (3) which forced the entrance to the Paraguayan fortified city Humayta.

1. Built under the 1907 Naval Program as part of the Pará-class numbering 10 destroyers all built by Yarrow. Disarmed in 1939 is also reported that she was launched on the 20th.

3. Part of the Pará-class, building ordered in 1866, laid down by Arsenal de Marinha da Corte, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 8 December 1866, launched on 29 October 1867, completed in November 1867 and finally broken up in 1900.
